The Blistering Winter is a 2D multiplayer or singleplayer apocalyptic survival game with unique combat mechanics currently in development by Callum Mackenzie & Christopher Mcgillivray.
It takes place in a Russian nuclear winter, roughly in the year 2070. A global nuclear war a decade earlier left nearly the entire planet in ruin, killing most of humanity in the proccess. Survive and explore the unique story that the singleplayer campaign contains, or take part in a similar experience with friends.
The unique combat mechanics of the game make it an interesting experience, where the effectiveness of every hit is determined by exactly how well you can strike and aim.
Multiplayer is completely seperate from singleplayer, story elements will differ but gameplay will remain the same.
The Blistering Winter will offer server-based multiplayer, where the desired server's IP address and port must be input in order to join said server. An additional app will be provided to host a server on the desired computer, called TBWS (The Blistering Winter Server). There will be options to select what port the server will run on, and also will allow for game settings to be adjusted as well.
Singleplayer will be an immersive experience with an extensive story and a static world, unlike multiplayer which will have a randomly generated world. The aim of the singleplayer aspect of the game is to use the story to its full potential and provide a more concrete and sculpted gameplay experience. The launch of singleplayer will be later than the multiplayer launch, but both will be included within the same game.
